Course Description
Veterinary Assisting-I

Introduction to common veterinary office etiquette, procedures and techniques. Learn more about the veterinary office such as client interaction, medical terminology, vaccinations and common diseases including endoparasites, ectoparasites and zoonosis. Practice general functions of the front office, receptionist, kennel, barn/stalls and examination techniques for both large and small animals. This class will now be delivered in a blended method. The class will meet in-person every Wednesday from 3-5pm and the rest of the coursework will be online utilizing eLearn.

Requirements: Students MUST provide their own textbook. The book used for this course is ELSEVIER'S VETERINARY ASSISTING TEXTBOOK, THIRD EDITION BY MARGI SIROIS. ISBN 978-0-323-68145-2
